Principal Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with DevOps, CI/CD engineers, Cloud Architects, and interdisciplinary engineering teams to integrate security best practices into cloud infrastructure.

• Establish and promote cloud security principles, standards, and reference architectures throughout the organization.

• Assist engineers in developing and securely operating products and services from inception.

• Evaluate, design, and implement security processes and controls to address security, compliance, and audit requirements.

• Conduct proactive research to discover new threats and attack vectors.

• Incorporate shift-left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Deploy and manage cloud and Kubernetes security posture management tools to continuously monitor and mitigate risks across containerized workloads.

• Work alongside Trust & Security and Platform teams to achieve secure-by-design outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with AWS and AWS security services in a secure production setting, including IAM, Config, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.

• Proven ability to closely collaborate with engineering teams and support their efforts in shifting security left.

• Experience with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform), version control, and CI tools such as GitLab and GitLab CI.

• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes (AWS EKS), containers (Docker, AWS ECS), K8s admission controllers, and Supply Chain Security.

• Strong understanding of internet and computer network protocols, including TCP/IP, TLS, and VPN.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
