Principal Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and manage North’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) and multi-cloud infrastructures to ensure optimal availability, disaster recovery, and cost-effectiveness.

• Create and implement capabilities for AIOps platforms, including automated anomaly detection, predictive scaling, and self-healing incident remediation workflows utilizing AI/ML operational tools.

• Develop enterprise-wide standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible, as well as CI/CD automation pipelines to facilitate secure software delivery.

• Implement zero-trust network perimeters while adhering to strict compliance with industry security standards, such as the PCI Digital Security Standard.

• Construct telemetry data pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces to consolidate system performance data into advanced observability engines.

• Assess, pilot, and deploy generative AI tools along with LLM/AI-assisted developer tools to improve engineering efficiency and manage cloud costs effectively.

• Collaborate directly with DevOps, Site Reliability, Product Engineering, and InfoSec teams to integrate cloud infrastructure best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with significant hands-on expertise in AWS.

• Profound knowledge in Linux systems administration (RHEL, Ubuntu) and enterprise automation.

• Practical experience utilizing Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing AIOps frameworks, machine learning models for anomaly detection, or AI-driven observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana AI plugins, Dynatrace).

• Preferred AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional).

• Hands-on experience with PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure and security controls.

• Familiarity with multi-cloud deployments, particularly Google Cloud Platform.

• Proficient in scripting/programming with Python, Bash, or Perl.

• Experience with AI/ML workflow pipelines, vector data indexing, or deploying AI model workloads in containerized environments (Kubernetes/EKS).
