This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Oversee artistic direction and uphold quality standards.
• Create high-quality character, creature, and prop designs that are both technically and artistically aligned with the project's universe and visual aesthetics.
• Collaborate in establishing artistic vision benchmarks and assist in defining style under the supervision of the Art Director/Lead.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the entire development pipeline.
• Deliver work that adheres to specifications while maintaining workflow pipelines within established deadlines.
• Address bugs and document R&D case studies in the knowledge base.
• Engage in reviews, incorporate, and implement feedback from leads and peers.
• Offer insights and enhancements to visual quality.
• Share expertise and knowledge with team members.
• Collaborate with Tech Art, Animation, and leads on R&D projects to investigate new techniques and enhance pipelines and workflows.
• Occasionally assist leads and HR in recruitment efforts.
• Periodically support the onboarding process for new employees.
• Work closely with Animation and Technical departments to ensure characters fulfill quality expectations.
• Adjust or create surface shaders for in-game characters.
• A robust portfolio demonstrating character modeling and texturing capabilities.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard software for 3D modeling and high-poly sculpting (Maya, Max, ZBrush, Photoshop, or their equivalents).
• In-depth knowledge of working with Substance Painter or similar PBR texture workflows.
• Capability to create lifelike characters brimming with personality.
• Proficiency in producing both high poly and low poly models, along with textures.
• Strong skills in organic modeling (human faces, clothing, and realistic creatures).
• Ability to create intricate creature types, ranging from bipeds to quadrupeds and beyond.
• Artistic interpretation of concepts or creatively expand upon initial ideas.
• Excellent grasp of art fundamentals (shape, form, texture, value, and color) and anatomical understanding of both bipedal and quadrupedal forms.
• Strong hard-surface modeling skills (armor, weapons).
• Experience with PBR-based shaders.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
• Adaptable; able to adjust and develop specific art styles, techniques, and workflows with minimal guidance.
• Software proficiency in Maya/Max/Modo/Blender, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop.
• Candidates must have experience in the game industry and be based in Europe.
