Principal AI Search & Conversation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and spearhead the architecture of an advanced conversational AI platform that transforms traditional search into intelligent dialogue.

• Take ownership of systems that comprehend user intent, ascertain necessary information, gather data from various real-time providers, analyze competing options, and produce conversational responses that facilitate discovery to transaction.

• Architect the AI orchestration layer that coordinates multiple LLMs, specialized agents, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, and external APIs.

• Compile and prioritize information from ticketing providers, hotels, airlines, restaurants, transportation, maps, weather, and other third-party sources.

• Develop systems for multi-step task planning, conversational context, tool execution, result ranking, and adaptive recommendations.

• Establish technical vision and architectural standards.

• Assess emerging AI technologies.

• Guide senior engineers, architects, and principal engineers through mentorship.

• Make strategic long-term decisions concerning LLM strategy, retrieval architecture, agent design, memory management, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI evaluation frameworks.

• Collaborate with Principal Architects on backend infrastructure, payments, blockchain, messaging, mini-programs, and platform services.

• Ensure seamless integration across the ecosystem while upholding scalability, reliability, performance, and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in architecting and delivering production-scale AI platforms utilized by a significant user base.

• Proven leadership in roles such as Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or an equivalent senior technical position.

• Profound knowledge in LLMs, AI agents, multi-agent systems, RAG, semantic search, and contemporary AI orchestration frameworks.

• Strong comprehension of recommendation engines, ranking algorithms, personalization, and conversational AI.

• Extensive experience in designing distributed, cloud-native systems that operate globally with high availability and low latency.

• Practical experience in integrating intricate third-party APIs and synthesizing multiple real-time data sources.

• Outstanding architectural judgment with the capability to simplify complex technical challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions.

• Proficient in leading senior engineering teams, mentoring architects and principal engineers, establishing engineering standards, and making long-term technical decisions.

• Excellent communication skills across engineering, product, and executive leadership.
