Education, AI Policy Researcher

📋 Description

• Conduct research on national policies, strategies, regulations, and governmental initiatives pertaining to education, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and teacher development.

• Evaluate the approaches of governments and education authorities regarding the adoption and responsible application of AI within the education sector.

• Identify developments in policy, opportunities, constraints, and potential risks.

• Create a map of government entities, ministries, education authorities, regulators, universities, and other pertinent institutions.

• Identify stakeholders, decision-makers, influencers, and potential champions within institutions.

• Chart government-led and institutional initiatives related to AI, digital education, and educator development.

• Analyze barriers and facilitators to institutional adoption.

• Recognize opportunities to align initiatives with national priorities in education and AI.

• Formulate recommendations for government and institutional engagement.

• Prepare succinct briefing notes for stakeholder meetings.

• Monitor policy and regulatory developments throughout the engagement.

• Assist the team in comprehending pathways for sustainable long-term institutional adoption.

• Generate country-level policy and landscape briefs, stakeholder maps, strategy and policy mappings, opportunity/barrier/risk analyses, engagement recommendations, meeting briefing notes, regular updates, and strategic recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in public policy, education policy, government affairs, international development, or policy research.

• Strong research and analytical capabilities, especially in interpreting government strategies, policies, and regulatory frameworks.

• Solid understanding of government and institutional ecosystems within the MENA region.

• Experience in education, technology, AI policy, digital transformation, or workforce development is highly desirable.

• Ability to convert complex research findings into clear recommendations for non-policy audiences.

• Proficient stakeholder-mapping skills.

• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to create concise executive-level briefs.

• Capacity to work independently and manage research across various markets.

• Professional proficiency in English.

• Proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred.

• Previous experience working with or researching Ministries of Education, government entities, education authorities, or universities is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AI policy, responsible AI, EdTech, or digital education is a plus.

• Experience in supporting regional or multi-country initiatives is a plus.

• Understanding of public-sector decision-making and government engagement in MENA is a plus.
