Principal AI Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical strategy and oversee the architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems for comprehensive engagements.

• Create scalable cloud-native solutions, incorporating multi-cloud and hybrid approaches.

• Develop data architectures including warehouses, data lakes, and both batch and streaming pipelines.

• Design AI/ML systems that encompass model serving, MLOps pipelines, feature stores, and applications based on large language models (LLMs).

• Define standards for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps.

• Enhance performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, and reliability of deployed systems.

• Ensure that architecture adheres to security, governance, and compliance standards.

• Lead initiatives for cloud migrations and platform modernization.

• Utilize AI-driven tools such as Claude and Cursor to deliver higher-quality work swiftly.

• Collaborate with senior leadership and clients as the primary technical authority on strategy and direction.

• Convey intricate technical ideas to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

• Align architectural decisions with business priorities in partnership with engineering, data, AI, and product teams.

• Create and uphold architecture documentation, standards, and guidelines.

• Advocate for architectural standards and best practices.

• Mentor seasoned engineers and architects.

• Tackle complex architectural and integration challenges as the senior technical decision-maker.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest tools, frameworks, and patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 5 years in roles involving technical leadership.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Strong foundation in microservices, serverless architectures, containers, and event-driven systems.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices.

• In-depth expertise in data architecture across relational, NoSQL, and big data systems.

• Practical experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration.

• Significant experience in designing production AI/ML systems, including LLMs, MLOps, and model serving.

• Solid grasp of networking, security, identity, and access management in cloud settings.

• Familiarity with governance, compliance, and observability frameworks.

• Strong software engineering capabilities in Python, APIs, and containerization.

• Proven track record of senior technical leadership and mentoring experienced engineers.

• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.

• Demonstrable experience with AI-driven tools such as Claude and Cursor.

• Experience in multi-cloud architecture, knowledge of AI ethics or responsible AI, or enterprise architecture certifications is a plus.

• Experience in designing AI/ML solutions that integrate with SAP EAM data structures through SAP BTP or cloud-native APIs is a valuable addition.
