Preventative Maintenance Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Implement preventative maintenance performance check programs for commercial foodservice equipment.

• Offer proactive maintenance services to ensure customers’ kitchen equipment operates efficiently and minimizes breakdowns.

• Carry out installations, removals, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on beverage equipment.

• Work independently from home each morning while traveling to customer locations.

• Perform performance checks on refrigerators, ice machines, ovens, fryers, and beverage equipment.

• Educate customer staff on proper equipment cleaning and routine maintenance procedures.

• Manage time and resources effectively to control costs, enhance efficiencies, and fulfill customer commitments.

• Identify operational challenges that lead to kitchen equipment failures.

• Diagnose, repair, and execute planned maintenance on cooking, refrigeration, and dishwashing equipment.

• Participate in technical and manufacturer training to acquire additional licenses and certifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.

• Willingness to be on-call or work shifts based on customer requirements.

• Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned.

• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Capability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.

• Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and exposure to electrical shock risks in damp, humid, or freezing environments.

• Proficient in working on ladders, roofs, and other elevated locations.

• Preferred: Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications, such as EPA or CFESA.

• Preferred: Technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.

• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
