This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct remote prescribing reviews and consultations (via video, telephone, and asynchronous methods) for private/MSP clients, evaluating eligibility and suitability based on the medicine's license and the company's criteria.
• Verify identity and weight prior to prescribing, and check medication history against the Summary Care Record or GP record when available.
• Facilitate shared decision-making by communicating benefits, risks, and alternatives, confirming capacity and consent, and documenting it in the clinical record.
• Prescribe within the limits of the license, competence, and the approved formulary (Wegovy, Mounjaro, Saxenda, Orlistat), adhering to GMC guidelines for good and remote prescribing as well as the RPS Prescribing Competency Framework.
• Oversee the prescribing process, including dispensing, notifying the GP, follow-up, titration, repeats, monitoring, and discharge.
• Address side effects, adherence, and dosage inquiries, escalating complex cases beyond straightforward reviews to the Clinical Lead.
• Present complex cases, protocol inquiries, and suggestions for improvement at the monthly MDT and act on the decisions made.
• Maintain precise, contemporaneous clinical records and participate in prescribing audits, incident reporting, and duty of candour.
• Current, unrestricted UK prescribing registration: GMC-registered doctor, GPhC-registered pharmacist, or NMC-registered nurse with an independent prescriber qualification.
• Valid UK professional registration and revalidation.
• Proficient and safe in remote prescribing, adhering to GMC guidelines and the RPS Prescribing Competency Framework.
• Experience in assessing patients for and prescribing GLP-1 therapies and other weight-management medications.
• Strong clinical judgment concerning scope of practice; prescribe within competence and escalate issues promptly when uncertain.
• Clear and thorough clinical documentation along with strong adherence to operational safety procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a digital-first environment across pathway systems.
• Available for 20–40 hours per week, evenly distributed over 5 days.
• Willingness to work weekends if necessary.
