Work Design & Innovation Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate discovery sessions and current-state evaluations to comprehend workflows, decision points, team interactions, role clarity, and areas of friction.

• Define business, customer, and employee outcomes, establish success criteria, baselines, and metrics for redesign initiatives.

• Oversee the comprehensive design of AI-enhanced workflows that integrate human expertise with AI functionalities.

• Conduct workshops and engage stakeholders to pinpoint and prioritize opportunities for AI optimization and implementation requirements.

• Evaluate and prioritize enhancements to coordination, decision-making, handoffs, and overall team effectiveness.

• Ensure that redesigned processes and practices are thoroughly documented, quantifiable, and integrated into everyday operations.

• Track outcomes, collect stakeholder and user feedback, and identify necessary adjustments and further enhancements.

• Lead the development and evolution of work design methodologies, tools, templates, and delivery approaches.

• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, team leaders, and cross-functional teams.

• Convert transformation objectives into actionable redesign initiatives.

• Guide leaders and teams through change by providing facilitation, communication support, and implementation advice.

• Manage pilot programs from inception to full implementation, including success metrics, feedback mechanisms, and change support.

• Create dashboards to monitor the adoption of redesigned work processes.

• Spearhead cross-functional collaborations to collect feedback and metrics, uncover insights, and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain thorough documentation, action logs, and decision records.

• Utilize evidence-based recommendations to determine what needs refinement, scaling, or discontinuation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 5-7+ years of experience in operating model or organizational design, transformation, process improvement, organization design, work design, or a related discipline.

• Strong orientation towards value realization and data-driven decision-making, with a proven history of defining success criteria and metrics and tracking results over time.

• Proven experience in redesigning and documenting workflows, roles, team practices, operating models, or working methods within a complex organization.

• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects that require structured problem-solving, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined implementation.

• Proven ability to leverage data, feedback, and measurable outcomes to inform recommendations and assess impact.

• Familiarity with continuous improvement, service design, systems thinking, or similar methodologies.

• Capability to apply AI and collaboration tools effectively, learn quickly, and continuously redesign work processes using AI.

• Ability to create workflow designs, operating models/team structures, role descriptions, and skill development paths.

• Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.

• Consulting experience is preferred.

• Experience with Glean or comparable AI platforms is advantageous.

• Experience in the insurance sector is preferred.
