Pre-Underwriting Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct preliminary reviews of loan files by assessing borrower documentation, which includes credit reports, income statements, and asset verification, for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in calculating income and confirm the validity of supporting documents.

• Aid senior underwriters in pinpointing potential risks and issues within loan applications.

• Ensure that loan applications adhere to company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders and lenders to address issues and facilitate timely processing of loans.

• Stay updated on mortgage products and underwriting guidelines for Conventional, FHA, VA, and various other loan types.

• Complete the mandatory video interview task prior to being scheduled for an in-person interview.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Junior Underwriter or in a similar role is necessary for consideration.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related discipline is required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are essential.

• Keen attention to detail and the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks are crucial.

• Experience with Encompass loan origination software is highly advantageous.

• Previous experience in mortgage processing or underwriting is preferred but not mandatory.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines is essential.

• Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities is necessary.

• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities are expected.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

• Familiarity with Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage types is a plus.
