Pre-Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the preconstruction phase from the initial project idea to the commencement of construction.

• Formulate project strategies, budgets, schedules, and risk management plans by examining project plans, specifications, and associated documents.

• Organize and lead pre-bid meetings.

• Collaborate with the design team to evaluate design documents and ensure they meet client expectations and project requirements.

• Engage with clients to comprehend their needs and provide updates on the project and preconstruction progress.

• Identify project risks and create strategies for mitigation.

• Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to enhance cost-effective solutions.

• Select and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive preconstruction reports that outline project scope, budget, and timeline.

• Review contract terms and conditions to ensure adherence.

• Assist in post-bid activities, including negotiations with contractors and suppliers.

• Promote continuous improvement in estimating, budgeting, and project-planning processes.

• Maintain relationships with existing clients and cultivate new client relationships in line with the business plan.

• Support all organizational divisions in securing work, which may involve travel to regional offices as necessary.

• Report to the Director of Preconstruction.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in preconstruction, construction, and/or project management roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Significant experience in electrical or utility construction projects is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.

• Proven capability to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• Highly skilled in Estimating and Scheduling Software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

• Ability to interpret contracts.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

• Candidate must be willing to travel across North America; approximately 20% travel is expected.

• Must complete pre-employment screenings, including professional reference checks and a criminal record check.
