This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Generate public interest surrounding scandiweb, internal projects, company advancements, and selected client initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with company founders and business leaders to uncover stories worthy of public exposure.
• Identify PR opportunities within various projects, client engagements, internal discussions, product development, research, technical achievements, and market shifts.
• Transform complex or mundane subjects into engaging narratives featuring compelling headlines, tension, consequences, and reasons for interest.
• Design innovative PR campaigns and attention-grabbing stunts.
• Create newsworthy moments through events, benchmarks, public challenges, experiments, debates, collaborations, or campaigns.
• Develop multiple media perspectives around key events for diverse audiences.
• Conduct research on relevant journalists, editors, newsletter authors, podcasters, creators, analysts, and industry communities.
• Prepare tailored pitches and execute outreach via email, social media, calls, introductions, events, and other channels.
• Establish long-lasting relationships with media professionals.
• Coordinate interviews, expert commentary, data, visuals, demonstrations, customer testimonials, and spokesperson preparation.
• Work in conjunction with content, design, video, data, and development teams.
• Monitor public discussions, competitor movements, industry updates, and cultural trends.
• Respond swiftly to unforeseen media opportunities and synchronize internal contributors.
• Utilize AI and research tools to track media, identify patterns and contacts, formulate angles, and enhance outreach.
• Assess campaign outcomes, document successful strategies, and refine future campaigns based on media feedback and business impact.
• Success metrics include the quality and relevance of earned media, campaign engagement, relationship building, audience focus, and supported business opportunities.
• Previous experience in PR, journalism, communications, creative agencies, content production, startups, or growth marketing is preferred.
• Proven ability to capture attention, secure media coverage, build an audience, or generate public interest in an idea.
• Strong news judgment.
• Capability to uncover compelling angles in technical, commercial, or everyday information.
• Exceptional skills in headline creation, pitching, and short-form writing.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Ability to comprehend technical and business subjects and convey them clearly.
• Proactive approach and eagerness to reach out to individuals directly.
• Resilience with overlooked or rejected pitches.
• Comfort in managing incomplete information and dynamic projects.
• Proficient in juggling multiple stories, stakeholders, and deadlines.
• Confidence in communicating with founders, executives, technical specialists, clients, journalists, and creators.
• Capability to work independently, make decisions, and assume responsibility for campaign results.
• Curiosity about media, business, technology, eCommerce, culture, and information dissemination.
• Practical knowledge of social media, online communities, podcasts, newsletters, creator channels, and various media.
• Existing connections with journalists, editors, creators, or industry media are a plus.
• Experience in eCommerce or technology is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to complete a practical test.
• Fluency in English.
