Power System Engineer – Global

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and refine Piq Energy’s primary autonomous grid planning product.

• Oversee grid data and associated models.

• Assist the power system analytics team and end-users.

• Grow Piq Energy’s international team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Systems.

• Proficient in English at a business level.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in positions at a utility, system operator, engineering consultancy, or related field.

• Strong understanding of interconnection processes (cluster procedures, study phases, upgrades/costs, queue dynamics).

• Solid knowledge of technical standards and regulations pertaining to electricity grid planning, development, operation, and interconnection.

• Practical experience with commercial power system analysis tools for steady-state and dynamic studies, as well as plant model creation (e.g., PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld).

• Demonstrated capability to manage and maintain comprehensive electricity network models.

• Proficient in Python, especially for automating grid studies, conducting data analysis, and producing reports.

• Self-driven with the ability to work independently and effectively manage time.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

• Candidates should have experience with US utility companies.
