Power Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical engineering analysis and design support in line with the Energy and Power team's focus areas, which includes power supply agreements, AI/GPU load strategy, and substation and grid engineering.

• Assist in system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and reliability analyses, along with related technical evaluations.

• Develop technical documentation that aids in negotiations, design choices, or strategy recommendations.

• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Development, and Construction teams on the technical components of projects.

• Conduct site visits as necessary to assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and clarifying design details.

• Aid in the development of technical scopes for behind-the-meter, islanded, and grid-connected load strategies, which includes design oversight, constructability assessments, operability evaluations, and commissioning readiness.

• Where applicable, contribute to on-site power generation design and its integration with UPS/BESS/microgrid controllers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• 5-8+ years of experience in power systems engineering, utility engineering, or a comparable technical field.

• Strong analytical skills with a background in interpreting technical specifications, tariffs, or system studies pertinent to the team.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capable of producing or reviewing one-line diagrams and supporting system studies (load flow, short-circuit, reliability) relevant to the team.

• Experience in supporting data center operations or large industrial power systems.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems is preferred.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

• Familiarity with on-site power generation design and delivery (e.g., reciprocating engines, turbines) or experience with generator OEMs, EPCs, or commissioning service providers.
