Power BI Developer, Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Power BI reports for the leadership team, encompassing the CEO dashboard, departmental budget vs. actual reporting, utilization, and customer profitability.

• Establish consolidated reporting models that integrate Halo PSA, Xero, Float, and HubSpot, including matching entities between Halo customers and Xero contacts.

• Construct and manage the semantic model, focusing on star schema design, relationship handling, and performance enhancement.

• Oversee Power BI Service administration, which includes workspace management, gateway setup, scheduled refreshes, and row level security.

• Streamline recurring financial reconciliation tasks, such as supplier overage billing, to meet auditable and reproducible standards.

• Validate reporting outputs against source data and document this as part of the delivery process.

• Collect requirements directly from non-technical staff across finance, sales, and operations, transforming them into detailed written specifications.

• Operate within the defined delivery framework, which includes a high-level plan, scope of work, pre-sales authorization, peer reviews, and necessary documentation prior to go-live.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong technical expertise in Power BI.

• Significant hands-on experience with Power BI development in a production setting.

• Proficient in advanced DAX, including measures, calculated columns, time intelligence, and complex calculations.

• Experience with Power Query for ETL processes, data transformation, and M language.

• Knowledge of data modeling, including star schema, relationship management, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with Power BI Service tasks, such as workspace management, gateway configuration, scheduled refreshes, and row level security.

• Proficiency in SQL, covering queries, joins, views, and stored procedures.

• Understanding of financial domains.

• Prior experience in developing financial reporting dashboards or direct involvement with accounting and finance systems.

• Comprehension of key financial metrics like gross margin, EBITDA, utilization, cost to serve, and project profitability.

• Background in management accounts, customer profitability analysis, divisional profit and loss, or budget variance reporting.

• Ability to grasp the business context behind financial data and extract insights beyond mere figures.

• Commitment to accuracy and reconciliation.

• Capable of linking reporting outputs back to their sources and presenting the reconciliation as part of the delivery process, without prompting.

• Proactive in identifying the limitations of your work before they are pointed out by others.

• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
