This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Oversee the technical delivery for High Voltage Substation projects across North America.
• Promote growth by cultivating an inclusive and high-performing team environment.
• Ensure the quality, competitiveness, and reliability of technical solutions.
• Provide strategic oversight for ACIS and FACTS portfolios from tendering through execution.
• Offer technical strategy, integrated guidance, and leadership across all technical workstreams.
• Direct technical solutions during the Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) stages.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering Directors and Managers on engineering costs, scheduling, and resource management.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for Project Execution Managers, Application Engineers, and Bid Managers.
• Foster continuous improvement through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and formal returns of experience.
• Ensure safety by design through HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON methodologies.
• Define and validate design quality plans, including gate reviews at both portfolio and project levels.
• Assess and mitigate technical risks and opportunities.
• Lead the North American Technical Expert Program (TEP).
• Represent the organization at technical conferences and professional gatherings.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Over 15 years of extensive experience in engineering.
• At least 10 years of specific experience with large, complex HV substation project activities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification valid in the United States and/or Canada.
• Current work authorization for the US and Canada.
• Proven track record as a Project Technical Lead.
• In-depth knowledge of ACIS, FACTS, and HVDC solutions.
• Strong systems integration capabilities, including managing intricate technical interfaces and requirements.
• Cross-functional experience collaborating with Gas Power, Wind, Power Conversion, and Battery Energy Storage systems.
• Extensive technical expertise in GE Grid Solutions (GIS, AIS, GCB, Transformers) and Grid Automation (P&C, SCADA, EMS/PMS).
• Demonstrated emotional maturity focused on leadership, humility, inclusion, and team development.
• Strong influencing capabilities and cultural competence for managing global, matrixed teams.
• Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders, customers, and partners.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including occasional international trips.
• US work authorization is mandatory.
