This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
β’ Oversee technical delivery for High Voltage Substation projects across North America
β’ Promote growth by nurturing an inclusive and high-performing team environment
β’ Offer technical strategy, integrated guidance, and leadership for all technical workstreams
β’ Direct technical solutions throughout the Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) phases
β’ Collaborate with Project Engineering Directors/Managers on engineering costs, schedules, and resource management
β’ Act as the principal technical liaison for PEMs, Application Engineers, and Bid Managers
β’ Encourage continuous improvement via Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and formal returns of experience
β’ Ensure safety by design using HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON processes
β’ Establish and validate design quality plans and gate reviews
β’ Assess and address technical risks and opportunities
β’ Lead the North American Technical Expert Program (TEP)
β’ Represent the organization at technical conferences and professional gatherings
β’ Provide strategic direction for ACIS and FACTS portfolios from tendering to execution
β’ Bachelorβs degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
β’ Over 15 years of extensive experience in engineering
β’ Minimum of 10 years of specific involvement in large, complex HV substation project activities
β’ Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the United States and/or Canada
β’ Valid work authorization for the US and Canada
β’ Proven track record as a Project Technical Lead
β’ Comprehensive understanding of ACIS, FACTS, and HVDC solutions
β’ Strong systems integration capabilities, with experience in managing intricate technical interfaces and requirements
β’ Cross-functional experience collaborating with Gas Power, Wind, Power Conversion, and Battery Energy Storage systems
β’ In-depth technical knowledge of GE Grid Solutions (GIS, AIS, GCB, Transformers) and Grid Automation (P&C, SCADA, EMS/PMS)
β’ Demonstrated emotional maturity with an emphasis on leadership, humility, inclusion, and team development
β’ Strong influencing abilities and cultural competence in managing global, matrixed teams
β’ Capacity to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, customers, and partners
β’ Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including occasional international trips
β’ US work authorization is required
