This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee the complete transaction process, from discovering and qualifying new opportunities to negotiation and successful execution.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Development team to identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets.
• Actively seek out new acquisition prospects, arrange qualified meetings, and advance target companies through the M&A pipeline until signing.
• Cultivate and sustain long-term, trusted relationships with current and prospective acquisition targets through face-to-face meetings, phone interactions, and email correspondence.
• Diligently document activities, opportunities, and pertinent information within Salesforce (CRM).
• Identify and participate in relevant conferences and industry events.
• Organize roadshows to generate leads and enhance relationships with potential target companies.
• Assist the M&A team with financial modeling, due diligence, and negotiations, managing the process through to transaction closure.
• Develop investment theses based on thorough analysis and present recommendations to the Investment Committee prior to investment decisions.
• Effectively and persuasively convey Harris’ investment philosophy, strategy, and value proposition to prospective acquisition targets.
• Ensure that acquisition processes are conducted professionally and efficiently, prioritizing trusted relationships.
• Frequent travel within Germany and the DACH region, with increasing travel throughout Europe.
• Several years of pertinent professional experience in M&A, financial due diligence, corporate development, business development, investment management, finance, general management, or a related discipline.
• Experience in managing or supporting M&A transactions.
• Background in operational leadership, such as a General Manager or in a senior management position at an operating (software) company.
• Strong skills in financial modeling, analysis, and commercial valuation.
• Proven expertise in lead generation, business opportunity qualification, and relationship cultivation.
• Experience in the software industry, especially within the public sector, security, healthcare, or utilities, is essential.
• Confidently communicate with C-level executives and business owners.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Proactive, self-driven, and capable of working independently.
• Business-fluent in both German and English.
• Proficiency in French is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Willingness and capability to travel on a regular basis.
