
Portfolio Manager – Gas Power Systems Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Oversee and manage the budget for the Systems Architecture Team at both the program and initiative levels, encompassing engineering hours, Capex, and Opex.
• Facilitate prioritization, funding planning and allocation, and approval processes through R&D councils and other governance entities.
• Coordinate resource planning in collaboration with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, and other functional partners.
• Assist in budget planning cycles and supervise budget assumptions across the portfolio.
• Monitor programs and initiatives, including key milestones, budgets, risks, and adherence to governance standards.
• Maintain portfolio data using RISE, Wave, and various program management tools.
• Organize and lead gate reviews and critical program assessments.
• Oversee change implementation for programs and initiatives.
• Aid Product Managers in utilizing the Power Now tool and other operational tasks.
• Guide the formulation and development of business cases while overseeing assumptions and methodologies.
• Keep the business case template and key assumptions updated, including SIOP volume data.
• Collaborate with Finance to track initiative costs and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain portfolio dashboards utilizing Wave, RISE, and other applicable tools.
• Conduct Daily Management meetings and support in-depth reviews and MOR follow-ups.
• Provide oversight for technology readiness management and assist with TRM follow-ups.
• Analyze KPIs and performance data, pinpoint risks, suggest corrective actions, and communicate the portfolio status effectively.
• Act as the primary liaison between the Systems Architecture Team and PM Operations as well as Engineering Operations.
• Relay portfolio and program information to leadership, engineering, finance, and commercial stakeholders.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders to adopt standardized processes, governance norms, and prioritization frameworks.
• Assist the Systems Architecture Team leader with materials for leadership reviews and strategic planning.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 7 years of experience in program management, product management, engineering operations, or a similar field.
• Proven experience in managing complex, multi-initiative portfolios effectively.
• Proficient in managing budgets, business cases, and financial planning processes, including Capex and Opex oversight.
• Capability to convey complex program and portfolio information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in influencing stakeholders and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using data and program management tools to monitor performance, identify risks, and produce actionable insights.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• A master's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical or management discipline is preferred.
• Familiarity with RISE, Wave, or similar portfolio management platforms is desired.
• Knowledge of R&D council approvals, L-gate processes, and technology readiness management is preferred.
• Experience in product management or engineering operations within the power generation or industrial sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with GE Vernova products, systems, commercial processes, the Handbook, and SIOP is beneficial.
• Possession of a PMP certification or equivalent program management credential is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive standardization and process improvement across complex, multi-functional teams is desired.
