Platform Solution Architect – AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead agile, multi-skilled teams in the design and delivery of high-quality public cloud solutions.

• Collaborate with customer architects and colleagues to design, automate, build, and maintain modern digital service platforms.

• Estimate effort and provide insights on the implications of technical decisions and technology selections.

• Responsibly utilize AI tools throughout the delivery lifecycle to enhance automation, speed up delivery, and improve results.

• Integrate effective AI-Augmented practices into operational workflows.

• Mentor teams and senior engineers on AI-Augmented methodologies.

• Contribute to the advancement of Kainos's AI delivery capabilities.

• Lead engineering, testing, consulting, product management, and security teams in crafting solutions that meet non-functional requirements.

• Advocate for new technologies and tools both within and outside Kainos.

• Play a role in shaping technology strategy and assist in identifying, qualifying, and securing new opportunities.

• Provide technical leadership across various projects and make essential technical decisions.

• Offer constructive feedback and critiques to enhance solution quality.

• Support colleagues while balancing individual and team needs.

• Manage, mentor, and develop senior staff, focusing on performance and career growth.

• Research, test, and implement AI strategies while ensuring accountability for quality, governance, and risk.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong prioritization and time management abilities.

• Proven leadership experience across teams and the ability to foster a DevOps culture.

• Experience in managing, coaching, and developing senior team members and the broader community.

• Personal accountability for delivering modern digital service platforms in live production settings.

• Ability to prioritize non-functional aspects and integrate them into platform design.

• Capable of making timely decisions in fast-paced delivery environments and owning the outcomes.

• Significant proficiency with multiple public cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.

• Expertise in comprehensive solution architecture concepts.

• Knowledge of the latest Continuous Delivery methodologies.

• Experience with container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with cloud-native tools and practices.

• Experience in proactively developing business within an account.

• Responsible for addressing technology delivery challenges of varying scales.

• Experience in developing and contributing to business cases that promote public cloud adoption.

• Proven experience in successfully applying AI to enhance outcomes and resolve complex business or delivery issues.

• A third-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field is preferred.

• Certification from a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure) is preferred.

• Certification from another recognized professional body, such as CNCF, is preferred.

• Proficiency in automation tools and languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or Groovy is preferred.

• An interest in emerging trends in software delivery and platform engineering is preferred.
