This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Define, construct, and manage the internal platform as a product tailored for developers and IT teams.
• Develop and implement a platform roadmap, service catalog, and self-service functionalities.
• Create reusable components and standardized patterns for environment provisioning, templates, and pipelines.
• Continuously enhance the developer experience by minimizing friction and promoting autonomy.
• Architect and oversee Azure and AWS cloud environments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies.
• Lead the adoption of Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, Bicep, and ARM.
• Define infrastructure patterns that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with Security teams to integrate security within CI/CD pipelines and platform services.
• Implement automated security controls including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Enforce policy-as-code, least-privilege access, zero-trust principles, and identity and access management.
• Utilize AI/ML for operational insights, anomaly detection, cost optimization, incident response, and enhancing engineering productivity.
• Establish and govern scalable, secure, and reusable integration patterns across APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture.
• Drive maturity in CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Enable fully automated provisioning and deployment workflows.
• Implement observability practices encompassing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Support reliability targets, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to platform governance, standards, and alignment with Security, Architecture, and Development teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of seven (7) years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• At least three (3) years in leadership positions.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and a working knowledge of AWS.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Proven experience in implementing DevSecOps practices and secure pipelines.
• Experience in designing and managing integrations and APIs.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their integration into engineering workflows.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and incident management practices.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, including lifecycle and access control models.
• Experience working within Agile/DevOps environments.
• Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert / DevOps Engineer Expert.
• AWS Certifications are preferred.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar qualifications are preferred.
• Experience in implementing platform engineering or internal developer platforms is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms or MLOps concepts is preferred.
• Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost governance is preferred.
• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments is preferred.
