This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Evaluate building regulation applications, plans, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Analyze architectural, structural, fire safety, accessibility, and energy-related documentation.
• Detect compliance issues and offer clear, practical, and proportionate technical advice.
• Oversee statutory consultations with Fire and Rescue Authorities when necessary.
• Review revised submissions and assist applicants throughout the approval process.
• Maintain precise records and ensure that assessments are completed within statutory timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to colleagues within the broader building control team.
• Encourage knowledge-sharing, technical training, and mentoring initiatives as appropriate.
• Valid Class 2A -D Building Inspector (RBI) registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
• Extensive experience in Building Control and plan assessment within England.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and related legislation.
• Proficient in assessing technical drawings and building regulation applications.
• Familiarity with fire safety requirements and statutory consultation procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical requirements clearly.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while managing a diverse caseload.
• Experience with domestic, commercial, and higher-risk buildings is preferred.
• Background in managing complex or technically demanding projects is advantageous.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting fellow building control professionals is desirable.
• Relevant professional qualifications in building surveying, construction, engineering, or a related field are preferred.
