📋 Description

• Assess plans, calculations, and specifications to ensure adherence to the latest adopted ordinances, laws, and state building codes.

• Draft plans review comment letters in accordance with municipal guidelines and SCA standards.

• Engage with clients as necessary through phone, email, virtual meetings, or face-to-face interactions to clarify plan check feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed Professional Civil or Structural Engineer.

• ICC Certified Plans Examiner with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the International model building codes and standard construction practices.

• Capability to evaluate all structural systems and additional building systems as required (e.g., architectural, accessibility, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, energy, and green/sustainability).

• At least 2 years of experience in an engineering design firm or a minimum of 2 years working as a Plan Check Engineer for a jurisdiction conducting design or plan check reviews for both commercial and residential projects.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and various plan review software like BlueBeam (or similar AutoCAD-based tools).

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited institution.

• Successful completion of a standard background investigation is required.

• Availability for full-time employment.

• Must reside in California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, or Nevada.
