This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Perform CPT and ICD-10 coding assessments by reviewing each line item in physician medical records and charge sessions.
β’ Conduct chart audits to verify precise coding and charge capture.
β’ Collaborate with revenue cycle stakeholders to comprehend denials, carry out root cause analysis, and furnish provider feedback.
β’ Examine patient medical records and extract diagnoses and procedures.
β’ Code diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS systems.
β’ Sequence diagnoses, procedures, and complications in accordance with applicable coding and regulatory standards.
β’ Consult with the CDCI team and medical personnel to clarify details within medical records.
β’ Uphold departmental productivity benchmarks and maintain current coding knowledge.
β’ Address and respond to coding inquiries.
β’ Ensure that billed services are coded accurately.
β’ Provide updates on coding practices and investigate coding issues.
β’ Review charts for proper documentation and required signatures.
β’ Perform additional responsibilities as required.
β’ Associate Degree (or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years).
β’ CPC β Certified Professional Coder.
β’ CPC-A β Certified Professional Coder Apprentice.
β’ 2-5 years of experience in a multi-specialty physician coding environment, encompassing coding, compliance, and billing processes.
β’ Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10-CM, and CPT-4.
β’ Fundamental understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
β’ Strong expertise in health records, computerized billing and charging systems, Microsoft applications, data integrity, and processing methods.
β’ Competence in multi-tasking, prioritizing critical tasks, following through, and adhering to timelines.
β’ High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Problem-solving abilities utilizing job knowledge and current policies/procedures.
β’ Capacity to work collaboratively with healthcare delivery team members and staff.
β’ Ability to manage frequent interruptions, adapt to workload and schedule changes, and respond promptly to urgent requests.
