
In-Patient Coder – Acute – CABG

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage medical coding and data entry/abstraction for Hospital (Acute) In-patient visits
• Code CABG (cardio), Ortho, and Med cases
• Utilize the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to enhance the coding/billing workflow
• Precisely assign ICD-10-CM and PCS primary and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes based on documentation as well as site-specific guidelines and policies
• Accurately designate the DRG
• Generate compliant physician queries
• Assess claims for medical necessity
• Update problem lists in alignment with client contracts
• Assign present on admission indicators
• Deliver customer service to clients and colleagues
• Work flexibly across multiple sites and coding specialties
• Perform additional job-related responsibilities as necessary
• Adhere to Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant regulations
• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• AHIMA or AAPC certification is REQUIRED
• Actively holds one or more of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC
• Proven experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases is REQUIRED
• Proficient in using 3M 360 Encoder HDM is REQUIRED
• Consistently meets or surpasses Quality and Productivity standards
• Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities
• Must possess attention to detail and follow through on issues until resolution
