This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold corporate coding education, training policies and procedures, as well as coding reference materials.

• Facilitate training sessions and evaluate coder understanding.

• Suggest the development of coding resources along with policies and procedures.

• Support coding leadership in training and/or developing performance improvement paths for coding colleagues involved in corrective action processes.

• Collaborate with Coding Auditors to produce educational materials informed by audit outcomes.

• Design and sustain a consistent orientation program for coding operations.

• Update coding leadership on coders’ progress during orientation and training phases.

• Function as a nosologist, examining and interpreting classifications and terminologies related to diseases and procedures for precise healthcare data translation.

• Utilize broad guidelines in applying to specific coding scenarios with discretion and analytical skills.

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of Franciscan Alliance coding software tools.

• Aid in the development and upkeep of the software system workflow to ensure standardization and efficiency.

• Supervise system testing for released software updates and functionality alterations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of coding experience at Franciscan — Required, or an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management — Required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management — Preferred.

• 5 years of outpatient coding experience at Franciscan with CCS, CCS-P, CPC — Required, or 3 years of outpatient coding experience with RHIT/RHIA — Required.

• 3 years of experience as a coding manager or trainer/auditor — Preferred.

• Required surgery coding experience.

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint — Required.

• Strong attention to detail — Required.

• Travel requirement: Never or Rarely.
