Pharmacy Technician – Specialty Outreach

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Collaborate with pharmacists to efficiently prepare prescription orders within established time frames.

β€’ Assist specialty pharmacy operations through customer service, phone outreach, and data entry tasks.

β€’ Engage with patients and healthcare providers, including reaching out to medical offices for prescription clarification.

β€’ Provide updates to patients regarding the status of their prescriptions.

β€’ Aid pharmacist callback queues by securing refill authorizations and clarifying prescriptions.

β€’ Support pre-QA and data entry processes.

β€’ Address email escalations effectively.

β€’ Coordinate with various departments to ensure accurately dispensed prescriptions are delivered promptly.

β€’ Operate under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

β€’ Maintain and refresh inventory recap reports regularly.

β€’ Collect discontinued or expired medications from stock; appropriately discard or return them while completing necessary documentation.

β€’ Keep meticulous prescription logs.

β€’ Assist in maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and document maintenance activities.

β€’ Adhere to safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory standards.

β€’ Execute additional tasks as assigned.

β€’ Follow all policies and standards diligently.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

β€’ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a medical office setting.

β€’ Knowledge of medications commonly prescribed for chronic or debilitating conditions.

β€’ Valid Pharmacy Technician license in Texas, Florida, Missouri, or California.

β€’ Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.

β€’ Ability to manage high call volumes effectively.

β€’ Proficient in using computer systems.

β€’ Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

β€’ Experience in specialty pharmacy, particularly in Infusion and/or Oncology, is strongly preferred.

β€’ Availability to work Monday through Friday during the designated local-time schedule.

β€’ Willingness to work on some holidays when the business is operational.
