Pharmacy Technician – Refill Authorization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Assist pharmacists in all aspects of pharmacy services under the necessary supervision.

• Manage phone calls and provide exemplary customer service.

• Gather clinical and patient information while maintaining accurate records.

• Utilize pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders, execute calculations, and compound medications when appropriate.

• Ensure supervision and pharmacist accuracy checks, identifying tasks that require pharmacist verification.

• Replenish and manage medication supplies, including inventories of controlled substances and 340B/charging management.

• Accurately package and label medications to reduce waste.

• Uphold cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy.

• Communicate responsibilities and concerns with caregivers effectively.

• Engage in quality, patient safety, departmental, and process improvement initiatives.

• Advocate for Intermountain Health's mission, vision, values, and service standards.

• Provide consistent, adaptable, detail-oriented care and undertake other assigned tasks.

• Support the department's financial responsibilities and contribute to team goals, activities, and projects.

• Deliver medications, information, and services in a professional and timely manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license relevant to the state of practice.

• Up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice, drug distribution, controlled substances, and investigational agents.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as required for the practice site.

• Proficiency in technical responsibilities and an eagerness to seek training and peer feedback.

• Ability to adhere to state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Consistent attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts is essential.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically within a multifunctional team.

• Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

• Proficient in using computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.

• Willingness to learn new relevant applications.

• Capacity to perform necessary physical activities, including lifting, standing, walking, manual dexterity, and effective communication.
