Pharmacy Technician, Order Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee incoming calls and initiate outgoing calls related to order setup.

• Collaborate with medical providers, patients, and pharmacy team members to guarantee prompt medication delivery.

• Enter patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy information management system.

• Support the Pharmacist in processing prescription orders as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy.

• Accept verbal prescription orders from licensed prescribers and facilitate prescription transfers between dispensing pharmacies in accordance with relevant state regulations.

• Assess patient insurance coverage and manage claims for orders.

• Input prescriptions into the pharmacy system.

• Stay informed about and comply with relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.

• Engage professionally with patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians, and other clients.

• Utilize knowledge and skills to perform standard tasks and address routine issues.

• Escalate complex or atypical problems to a supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

• 1-2 years of experience in a mail order or retail pharmacy environment is preferred.

• Registration in the state of Ohio or certification as a Pharmacy Technician, ideally in a retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy is preferred.

• Active state or national certification in good standing.

• Experience with insurance billing is preferred.

• A dedicated, quiet, private, and distraction-free remote work setting.
