This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Oversee patient enrollment processes, including benefit investigations, insurance verifications, and standard patient access challenges.
• Act as the main point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance payers.
• Manage incoming documentation and input/process data in patient management systems.
• Handle both inbound and outbound calls, documenting all interactions.
• Triage and direct calls to ensure one-touch resolution for callers.
• Identify and escalate issues in line with program protocols.
• Conduct benefit investigations and assess eligibility.
• Investigate coverage prerequisites, out-of-pocket expenses, and payer stipulations.
• Collaborate with patients, providers, and payers to gather missing information and address routine access challenges.
• Independently oversee patient cases from initial intake to the completion of benefit verification.
• Ensure precise documentation, timely follow-ups, and compliance with program specifications.
• Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of protected health information per HIPAA regulations.
• Execute data entry tasks, establish new patient records in databases, and process prescriptions.
• Perform both manual and electronic patient benefit verifications.
• Meet productivity, quality, attendance, and service-level goals.
• Provide support for special projects as required.
• Collaborate effectively and communicate transparently with stakeholders.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One to two years of pertinent experience in healthcare operations, benefit verification, or a comparable customer service position.
• Experience in customer support, patient care, provider assistance, or administrative duties in a pharmacy or healthcare environment.
• Proven capability in data entry and customer service.
• Experience in conducting benefit investigations, insurance verification, document review, program support, patient access assistance, or related healthcare operations tasks.
• Familiarity with medical and pharmacy benefit frameworks, types of payers, and reimbursement methods.
• Ability to effectively manage high-volume phone interactions while upholding quality and customer service standards.
• Advanced computer skills with a strong emphasis on data-entry accuracy and productivity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including the ability to generate reports and analyze regular data.
• Experience with patient support, case management, CRM, healthcare operations, and workflow management systems.
• Capability to navigate multiple databases, applications, and electronic systems concurrently.
• Proficient with telephony/call center technology and related documentation tools.
• Ability to maintain electronic patient records and rectify routine data inconsistencies.
• Skilled in troubleshooting basic system, workflow, and user issues within supported applications.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Capacity to multi-task and address moderately complex issues using independent judgment.
• Ability to work autonomously while also functioning well as a collaborative team member.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to acquire a Missouri pharmacy technician registration.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree.
• Preferred experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment, customer service/call center, or medical billing.
