Application Analyst – Maestro Care Beaker, Level 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, support, design, and test the Maestro Care (Epic) Electronic Health Record specifically for the Beaker module.

• Plan, execute, manage, and provide support to designated Beaker users within the Duke University Health System environment.

• Collaborate with Epic and other Maestro Care application personnel on deployment initiatives.

• Analyze clinical workflows and engage in the Beaker application build, testing, and support processes.

• Offer guidance and assistance with educational matters, including cross-training team members, end-users, and the DHTS Service Desk.

• Serve as the Maestro Care Beaker application authority for core functionalities.

• Revise test plans to accommodate new features in software releases.

• Assess end-user workflows, data collection, report specifics, and technical challenges related to Epic software.

• Complete application deployment, management, and testing activities within established timelines.

• Oversee documentation, resolution, and completion of deployment challenges and tasks.

• Construct, test, and debug Epic applications.

• Create and implement test plans; document and address defects in Quality Center.

• Develop and document both system and user procedures.

• Formulate report specifications and collaborate with writers to meet operational and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Provide business and after-hours support for production-related issues, including analysis, prioritization, and requested modifications.

• Deliver oral and written presentations to project teams, management, and other departments.

• Coordinate and operationalize projects ranging from simple to complex.

• Identify opportunities for procedural enhancements and specify automation functions.

• Assist in resolving Epic deployment issues through the Sherlock tracking system.

• Lead the evaluation and revision of existing information systems.

• Support the onboarding and training of new team members.

• Keep management informed of emerging technical challenges and maintain efficient processes and workflows.

• Aid in personnel oversight and workflow management activities as a team leader when necessary.

• Manage analysis of Nova release notes, reporting metrics, validation, and resolution ahead of designated Epic RA and/or SU implementation.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant clinical or technical discipline or four years of equivalent technical experience.

• Epic proficiency in application support is mandatory within the timeframe set by Maestro Care policies.

• Level 2: Three to five years of pertinent experience is required.

• Level 2: Clinical Laboratory experience is essential.

• Knowledge of project management principles to oversee deliverables.

• Ability to design specifications for information systems.

• Experience with the implementation and maintenance of information systems.

• Quality assurance skills.

• Familiarity with adult learning and training methodologies.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Proficient critical thinking abilities.

• Competency in statistical reporting.

• General data coding knowledge.

• Skills in data analysis and trending.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Application configuration expertise.

• User technical support and training capabilities.

• Ability to translate business processes into technical solutions.

• Current Epic Beaker certification or the ability to obtain certifications within the specified timeline.

• Preferred: Experience with Data Innovation Instrument Manager.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Transfusion applications such as SafeTrace Tx.

• Preferred: Strong understanding of Microbiology Beaker CP build.

• Preferred: Experience with Digital Pathology image analysis and data management systems.

• Preferred: Proven track record in IT infrastructure management (servers, networks, etc.).

• Preferred: Knowledge of machine learning, natural language processing, and AI technologies.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
