Personnel Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure seamless advancement of background investigations for permanent employees and other personnel.

• Act as the primary liaison for applicants, supervisors, and staffing personnel throughout the investigation process.

• Evaluate personnel security vetting requirements and establish suitable vetting scenarios.

• Examine case details and investigation requests for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to federal policies.

• Review adjudicated investigations and Special Agreement Checks to determine reciprocity eligibility.

• Conduct thorough assessments of SF-85, SF-85P, and SF-86 submissions.

• Oversee end-to-end case processing within eAPP, including initiation, tracking, and resolution of investigation requests.

• Prepare and manage agency-specific personnel security documentation, including AD-1187 requests.

• Provide subject matter expertise and advice regarding investigation processes, adjudicative standards, and policy interpretation.

• Assist with biometric data collection, fingerprint capture, and submissions for suitability and security clearance processing.

• Identify and rectify fingerprint quality issues.

• Validate SAC records, create ePS BI subcases, upload SAC records, and maintain tracking systems.

• Coordinate with applicants and supervisors to address questions and concerns.

• Collect, organize, and analyze data while resolving data-gathering challenges.

• Safeguard personally identifiable information and secure government facilities, equipment, and materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with over 3 years of expertise in security or intelligence disciplines, or alternatively, over 5 years of expertise in these fields.

• A Tier 2 security clearance or higher is mandatory.

• Proficient and trained user of eTracker, ePS, USAccess/GSA, PIPS/CVS, NP2 Portal, NBIS/eAPP, USA Staffing, NFC systems, and EmpowHR.

• Understanding of personnel security vetting, investigations, reinvestigations, reciprocity determinations, adjudication support, drug testing, suitability evaluations, and fingerprint processing.

• Familiarity with Public Trust and National Security positions along with federal investigative standards.

• Capability to review SF-85, SF-85P, and SF-86 submissions.

• Competence in managing case processing within eAPP.

• Knowledge of federal regulations, SOPs, contract requirements, the Privacy Act, and data protection policies.

• Subject matter expertise in security or intelligence disciplines.

• Ability to protect personally identifiable information and secure government property.
