This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Underwrite auto insurance policies within the non-standard market.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations while upholding high-quality standards.
• Compare customer documents and policies to confirm eligibility.
• Draft business correspondence for supervisors, managers, and both internal and external customers.
• Communicate with insured individuals or brokers to gather information or notify them about policy activities.
• Review applications, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), and other underwriting documents or reports to identify necessary changes.
• Modify, update, and process existing policies to adjust coverage amounts or insurance types as needed.
• Inform relevant parties of policy cancellations, required documents, and other underwriting actions.
• Process requests for policy cancellations in accordance with underwriting and state insurance regulations.
• Prepare and file both business and government forms.
• Update leadership on the status of ongoing tasks and projects.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Provide assistance in phone queues during peak call volumes.
• Adhere to state and federal laws, Department of Insurance standards, carrier policies, and company protocols.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in personal lines insurance, especially in policy processing or underwriting, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance terminology, concepts, and coverage.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and policy review.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance software is preferred.
• Capacity to adapt to new software programs and technological changes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others.
• Skill in articulating complex issues both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to receive and understand complex information.
• Consistently provide outstanding client service.
• Must maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime as determined by management.
• Travel may be necessary.
