Personal Injury Lien Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the management of liens and reimbursement claims throughout the duration of personal injury cases.

• Set up, monitor, negotiate, and resolve liens to guarantee precise settlement distributions and prompt case resolutions.

• Uphold stringent confidentiality and adhere to the firm's policies and procedures.

• Draft lien reduction requests and support lien negotiation efforts.

• Examine billing and lien documentation for inconsistencies, duplicate charges, credits, and unrelated treatments.

• Initiate, track, and manage lien records within the case management system.

• Refer complex, disputed, or urgent lien matters to attorneys as needed.

• Recognize potential lien interests, including Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance, ERISA, workers' compensation, hospitals, medical providers, and other recovery entities.

• Coordinate lien payments, secure releases and zero-balance confirmations, and ensure appropriate case closure.

• Liaise with lienholders, clients, attorneys, case managers, medical providers, and settlement teams regarding lien status and outstanding requirements.

• Keep detailed records, notes, deadlines, and follow-up activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred experience in personal injury law, lien resolution, legal settlements, medical billing, health-plan recovery, or a related field.

• Strong analytical abilities to review records, reconcile balances, and identify discrepancies.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in case management software, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, PDFs, and online recovery portals.

• Experience with SmartAdvocate or similar legal case management systems is advantageous.

• Capability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and use sound judgment when escalating issues.

• Proficient in the English language.
