This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +16 more states.
• Assist in researching and applying for permits with governmental, quasi-governmental, and utility entities.
• Monitor the progress of permit applications.
• Facilitate requests for additional information from jurisdictions during the application review process.
• Accurately receive and input incoming work from various sources including email, PDFs, paper documents, FTP sites, customer databases, and others into online database software.
• Research permitting requirements in collaboration with utility providers and local stakeholders.
• Collect necessary field data for permit entity requests.
• Submit and obtain railroad, DOT, pole, and other permits.
• Track permits for required projects.
• Receive, review, and submit subcontractor invoices for approval.
• Monitor subcontractor invoices to ensure compliance with established timelines.
• Enter subcontractor invoices into the Pods system.
• Scan field notes and maps upon request.
• Compile and input data to generate necessary reports.
• Uphold the company's image through ethical business practices and excellent customer service.
• Execute additional duties and special projects assigned by Field Engineering Leadership.
• Collaborate with customers, field staff, and Engineering Leadership teams.
• Preferred 2-year degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field of study.
• Experience in production-based utility permitting is preferred; experience in Cable TV is strongly desired.
• Understanding of Cable TV design and basic construction practices related to Cable TV systems.
• Proficiency with Ocalc, Span Master, Ruling Span, and NJUNS software.
• NJUNS (National Joint Utilities Notification Software) experience is a significant advantage.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Familiarity with Access or user-friendly databases like Quickbase is a plus.
• Capability to update and/or create PDF maps for permits using Bluebeam or a PDF editor.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
• Customer service-oriented mindset.
• Ability to multitask, manage interruptions, and prioritize workload effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to follow directions and work independently.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on increased responsibilities.
• Must be responsible, self-motivated, and work effectively in a remote environment.

• Must be flexible and willing to work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
• Required to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.
