This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the Senior Director, People & Culture.
• Convert organizational vision and priorities into implementable strategies.
• Advocate for the Senior Director's objectives in cross-functional and leadership discussions.
• Ensure HR strategy is in alignment with organizational goals.
• Spearhead organizational change, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
• Monitor regional, federal, and international HR legislation to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate in the development of HR policies and procedures.
• Guide and mentor the Payroll & People Systems Specialist.
• Ensure accountability for the effectiveness, compliance, and operational integrity of U.S. payroll.
• Supervise and mentor the Global Benefits & Leave Specialist.
• Manage the design, compliance, and administration of benefits and leave programs across various regions.
• Serve as a key contact with brokers, carriers, and Employer-of-Record partners.
• Oversee renewals, plan design, and the strategy for open enrollment.
• Manage BambooHR and the overall People & Culture technology ecosystem, including integrations, workflows, data integrity, and permissions.
• Direct HR system implementations and process enhancements.
• Address complex, sensitive, or high-risk employee relations issues.
• Provide coaching to the People & Culture Business Partner on performance challenges and formal action plans.
• Ensure that managers effectively conduct performance evaluations and development discussions.
• Collaborate on the design and evaluation of learning and career development programs.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and transparent culture while promoting DEI initiatives.
• Perform additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as required.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in HR/People & Culture, including strategic HR partnership, People Operations, and leadership roles.
• Proven experience in leading, mentoring, or managing HR professionals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent management, organizational development, and HR technology.
• In-depth understanding of U.S. employment law and compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Strong expertise in U.S. payroll, benefits, and leave administration, including renewals, plan design, and vendor/broker management.
• Experience in overseeing HRIS workflows, integrations, data integrity, permissions, and system implementations.
• Ability to manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters discreetly and diplomatically.
• Experience in leading organizational change management and workforce planning efforts.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities utilizing people data and HR metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently in a fully remote environment and occasionally across time zones.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% each year.
• Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalents.
• Experience with EOR providers and global benefits/employment practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with BambooHR or similar HRIS is preferred.
• Experience in a global, distributed, nonprofit, and/or remote-first organization is preferred.
• History of supporting organizations during growth or transformation is preferred.
• Located in the U.S., preferably within the Eastern Time Zone.
