This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee Canadian employee benefit programs, which encompass extended health care, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, the Employee Assistance Program, and wellness initiatives.
• Administer employee enrollments, changes, terminations, beneficiary updates, and eligibility transactions.
• Manage modifications to benefit plan data and conduct regular audits.
• Support annual enrollment and renewal processes, including testing, communications, issue resolution, and post-enrollment audits.
• Provide education to employees regarding plan provisions, eligibility criteria, claims procedures, and available support resources.
• Address complex benefit issues in collaboration with insurance carriers, brokers, vendors, Payroll, and People & Culture teams.
• Ensure that benefits programs comply with Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
• Maintain plan documents, policies, procedures, employee communications, and administrative manuals.
• Assist with regulatory reporting, audit requests, and documentation needs.
• Collaborate with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and People & Culture teams on legislative, policy, and plan design modifications.
• Cultivate relationships with insurers, brokers, consultants, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators.
• Monitor vendor performance, service challenges, and service levels.
• Facilitate annual renewals, vendor evaluations, market assessments, and vendor transitions.
• Analyze benefits usage, participation, eligibility, and cost trends.
• Create reports, dashboards, metrics, and presentations for People & Culture and leadership stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, quality controls, employee experience, and program effectiveness.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and promote continuous improvement.
• Engage in benefits integration, harmonization, system implementation, and process enhancement projects.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, workforce transitions, and organizational design changes affecting benefits.
• Assist with new program implementations, communications, testing, change management, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and competitiveness of the Total Rewards program.
• Ensure compliance with relevant compensation and benefits laws and regulations on a global scale.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• CEBS, GBA, CHRP, or related professional certification is considered an asset.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in benefits administration, ideally supporting Canadian employee groups.
• Proficiency with group insurance plans, disability management, leaves, and vendor coordination.
• Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, case management, and benefits administration systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of Canadian employee benefits and health and welfare programs.
• Working knowledge of provincial employment standards, leave regulations, disability management, and benefits administration practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and customer service abilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capacity to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to juggle competing priorities.
• Experience supporting a national Canadian workforce across various provinces is preferred.
• Familiarity with benefits brokers, insurers, and third-party administrators is preferred.
• Experience with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar People & Culture platforms is preferred.
• Background in a multinational organization or a complex matrix environment is preferred.
