Pediatrician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance and oversight to care programs aimed at preventing and addressing child abuse and neglect, including cases of sexual abuse and harassment.

• Provide expert advice and recommendations to providers delivering direct care to children.

• Intervene as needed to ensure proper placement and medical management for children.

• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for health services that align with evidence-based care standards.

• Evaluate grantee compliance regarding reasonable accommodations and access to direct care services.

• Collaborate with federal, state, local, and non-profit partners to enhance services available to children in care and during reunification.

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in clinical case reviews to ensure compliance with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) statutory responsibilities.

• Conduct site visits and needs assessments to oversee grantee healthcare services.

• Train ACF grantees, staff, and stakeholders on best practices concerning child health and safety.

• Participate in cross-Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) workgroups to ensure adherence to legal settlements and service delivery standards.

• Review and process Serious Medical Requests, including decisions that affect care and funding.

• Determine suitable medical responses in cases of suspected or confirmed sexual abuse or harassment.

• Review protocols for responding to incidents of sexual abuse and harassment.

• Consult on individual or provider conditions that might pose a risk of inappropriate sexual conduct, unmet medical needs, or unsafe medication practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD, DO, or NP with an active clinical license.

• 10 years of pediatric expertise in clinical care and oversight.

• Experience in compliance, quality assurance, and child welfare systems.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

• Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues, particularly relating to children (preferred).

• Experience working with a refugee program (preferred).

• Prior experience in a consulting environment (preferred).

• Ability to foster and contribute to an equitable and inclusive organizational culture and environment.

• Capability to manage competing priorities, perspectives, and stakeholder needs.

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

• Proven professionalism, judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
