This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of sustaining manufacturing engineering for PCBA production across various hardware platforms.
• Lead root cause investigations for manufacturing defects, field failures, and production escapes.
• Collaborate with Hardware Design Engineers to enhance manufacturability (DFM/DFA/DFT).
• Assist in engineering change orders and the implementation of manufacturing changes.
• Partner with contract manufacturers to boost production yield, cycle time, and quality.
• Examine manufacturing data to identify recurring process problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Create corrective and preventive actions addressing manufacturing and supplier quality issues.
• Support electrical, functional, and process failure analyses.
• Enhance manufacturing documentation, work instructions, assembly processes, and testing procedures.
• Work together with Test Engineering to improve production test coverage and manufacturing diagnostics.
• Facilitate supplier qualification, process validation, and manufacturing readiness for design modifications.
• Travel to manufacturing partners as necessary to assist production and resolve issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience supporting high-volume PCBA manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SMT manufacturing, PCB fabrication, and electronic assembly processes.
• Strong grasp of manufacturing process control, yield enhancement, and statistical analysis.
• Proficient in root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, or FMEA.
• Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers and navigating global supply chains.
• Ability to interpret schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Excellent communication and project management skills across functions.
• Preferred: experience with server, accelerator, networking, storage, or AI hardware platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of ICT, Flying Probe, Boundary Scan, Functional Test, and System-Level Test.
• Preferred: experience with high-speed PCBAs involving GPUs, CPUs, memory, PCIe, Ethernet, or high-speed interconnects.
• Preferred: understanding of IPC-A-610, IPC-6012, and IPC-7711/7721 standards.
• Preferred: experience with MES, PLM systems, and engineering change management.
