Payroll Transition Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition of payroll services into the India Payroll COE.

• Evaluate readiness, identify gaps and risks, and ensure that service acceptance criteria are fulfilled prior to go-live.

• Act as a functional expert in comprehensive payroll operations, including validations, controls, statutory requirements, and country-specific practices.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer among regional teams, vendors, and the COE.

• Ensure that SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and service artifacts are thorough, accurate, and formally approved.

• Organize shadowing, reverse shadowing, parallel operations, cutover readiness, hypercare, and stabilization activities.

• Handle operational risks, issues, dependencies, clarity of ownership, and the adoption of standardized processes.

• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, vendors, technology teams, and COE leadership.

• Monitor readiness for transition, service quality, KPIs, and trends in issues.

• Document lessons learned and pinpoint opportunities to enhance controls, standardize processes, and improve future transitions.

• Support scalable Payroll COE operations through governance, service management, compliance controls, escalation mechanisms, and ongoing improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in payroll operations, payroll transformation, HR transformation, or payroll system implementation.

• Strong grasp of end-to-end payroll processes and the associated controls.

• Experience in supporting implementation and post-implementation stabilization activities.

• Capability to manage multiple process activities and priorities within a time-sensitive environment.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management and client-facing interactions.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with teams located across different geographical areas.

• Willingness to engage with stakeholders across Southeast Asian time zones.

• Previous experience with Strada or a similar payroll technology or managed payroll-services platform.

• Experience in regional or global payroll transformation initiatives.

• Familiarity with process design, process mapping, testing, change management, and operational readiness.

• Experience collaborating with payroll teams in Southeast Asia.

• Background in consulting or professional services.

• Essential skills: India Payroll, Global Payroll, Payroll Transition, Service Lead, implementation and establishment of COE, functional knowledge of Payroll, PMO, and excellent communication abilities.
