This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage the complete payroll processing cycle in accordance with the payroll timeline and relevant standards, regulations, and laws.
• Maintain data accuracy in the payroll system by updating records for new hires, terminations, personnel changes, leaves, and benefits.
• Review timesheets and coordinate with managers to ensure timely approvals and necessary corrections.
• Oversee source deductions, benefits, vacation, support payments, and retirement plans.
• Ensure adherence to company policies regarding leaves, bonuses, overtime, and time banks.
• Finalize the year-end process and produce required reports, such as T4s, RL-1 slips, summaries, and CNESST reports.
• Enhance your expertise and knowledge to advance as a payroll specialist.
• Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance team at QSL’s head office located at the Port of Québec.
• A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness, attention to detail, and rigor.
• A college diploma in Accounting is an asset.
• A diploma from the Payroll Institute is considered an asset.
• Experience in interpreting collective agreements and working within a corporate setting is an asset.
• Bilingualism in French and English is necessary for interactions with internal and external stakeholders outside of Québec.
