This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Serve as a true subject matter expert for Japan.
• Cultivate and manage ongoing relationships with essential stakeholders in Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• Oversee the complete in-house payroll process, encompassing statutory filing obligations, exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance.
• Ensure the utmost data integrity and quality.
• Manage accounting and reconciliation tasks.
• Focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Implement and enhance operational processes.
• Mentor and provide support to payroll specialists.
• Assist regional managers during their absences.
• Report directly to the Manager of Global Payroll Operations.
• Experience in payroll management or a related field.
• Familiarity with payroll best practices.
• Proficient in SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets.
• Possess an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international work setting.
• Productivity-driven approach with a focus on continuous process enhancement.
• Capability to work largely in an asynchronous manner.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong skills in automation and AI, with fluency in AI technologies.
