Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete payroll processing cycle, which includes data entry, calculations, validations, and reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and keep abreast of updates to federal, state, and local tax laws.

• Administer employee garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other mandatory deductions.

• Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

• Address payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.

• Work in conjunction with HR to ensure accurate employee data and payroll adjustments are maintained.

• Generate and evaluate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.

• Support employee benefits administration, covering enrollments, modifications, and inquiries.

• Aid in ensuring compliance with the Affordable Care Act through reporting and documentation.

• Assist with audits, payroll reconciliations, and compliance initiatives.

• Stay informed about changes in payroll, benefits, tax, and employment regulations and adapt processes accordingly.

• Provide support with other payroll, benefits, compliance, and administrative tasks as needed.

• Prior experience as a payroll specialist or in a comparable role.

• In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, tax laws, and compliance standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data entry tasks.

• Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong organizational abilities and effective communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is advantageous.

• Familiarity with payroll best practices and current industry trends.
