This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Process and validate both regular and off-cycle payrolls for employees in the U.S. and Canada utilizing HRIS and payroll systems.

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies; escalate major issues to management as needed.

• Load and verify approved HR files related to benefits, bonuses, employee adjustments, and other payroll inputs.

• Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure all employee data and payroll modifications are complete, authorized, and accurate.

• Address payroll inquiries from employees and managers within the expected service levels.

• Coordinate payments for contractors and other worker arrangements through external payroll service providers.

• Validate payroll taxes, statutory deductions, benefit deductions, and garnishments.

• Keep abreast of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations and assist with any regulatory or procedural changes.

• Prepare year-end tax documentation, including U.S. Forms W-2 and Canadian T4 slips, while supporting reconciliations and filings.

• Maintain payroll procedures, control evidence, and records securely.

• Safeguard confidential employee and payroll information.

• Reconcile payroll registers, funding reports, general ledger interface files, and payroll-related accounts.

• Provide support for month-end, year-end, audit, tax, retirement plan, and benefit-related payroll tasks.

• Prepare and upload payroll journal entries and calculate payroll-related accruals.

• Calculate and reconcile reporting on employees, contractors, and full-time equivalent headcount.

• Develop both recurring and ad hoc payroll, financial, and operational reports.

• Identify opportunities to enhance controls, improve data quality, and streamline payroll processes.

• Perform additional duties as required by the role and business needs.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• An Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.

• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP), Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP), or a similar payroll credential is preferred.

• A minimum of five years of payroll experience, including multi-state U.S. payroll, is required.

• Experience with Canadian multi-province payroll is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in using ADP or a similar enterprise payroll platform is required.

• Familiarity with payroll best practices, reconciliations, internal controls, and U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations is essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, along with familiarity with HRIS, payroll interfaces, and general ledger uploads.

• Strong time management and prioritization abilities are required.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with robust analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
