Payroll Processing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Process payroll for designated business units and offer backup payroll processing support.

• Evaluate HR-generated workflows for their impact on payroll.

• Enter and validate payroll data, including garnishments.

• Assess employee tax data for accuracy based on jurisdiction.

• Analyze timekeeping system data when applicable.

• Confirm expected payroll calculation outcomes.

• Prepare funding requests and maintain necessary spreadsheets.

• Adhere to company policies and federal/state payroll-related regulations.

• Address inquiries from employees and HR related to payroll and payroll tax information.

• Generate and prepare payroll reports as required.

• Provide payroll data for audit purposes.

• Conduct payroll accounting analysis as necessary.

• Assist with payroll implementation activities.

• Make informed decisions regarding the accuracy of work.

• Organize tasks by assigning priority levels to incoming data.

• Maintain discretion and confidentiality.

• Carry out additional responsibilities within the role profile.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Accounting, General Ledger, and Payroll.

• Previous experience in Bookkeeping and Payroll Tax Analysis is preferred.

• Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize work in a dynamic environment, ensuring quality outcomes.

• Capable of working under pressure while meeting deadlines.

• Strong logical thinking skills and the ability to analyze problems and data.

• Proficiency in PC applications, including Excel and Word.

• Experience with UKG (formerly Ultipro and Kronos) is advantageous.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Relevant field of study or vocational training, degree preferred.
