Payroll Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main preparer for the month-end and quarter-end closing calendar, checklist, and reconciliations.

• Lead the accounting team in presenting monthly and quarterly close flux reports to management.

• Assume full responsibility for payroll accounting functions, which include processing, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting.

• Create and implement strong accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance systems in accordance with accounting policies and regulations.

• Propel accounting process enhancements aimed at automation, efficiency, and scalability to support company growth.

• Cultivate and uphold technical accounting expertise in payroll accounting compliance, processes, and controls.

• Compose detailed accounting policies using US GAAP technical accounting guidelines and work in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Detect inefficiencies in current accounting processes and devise innovative solutions.

• Collaborate with external auditors to streamline audits and ensure timely delivery of required materials.

• Support the processing of the Company's employee equity grants.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess over 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in startup or high-growth settings, including at least 3 years in a public company.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA certification (or equivalent) being preferred.

• Have proven experience in payroll accounting and relevant compliance requirements.

• Demonstrate a successful history of leading process improvement initiatives and system implementations.

• Be proficient in NetSuite or similar accounting software, with experience in financial systems integration.

• Exhibit outstanding organizational skills with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams effectively.

• Maintain a sharp attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy.

• Be a self-starter, capable of working independently, identifying issues, and implementing solutions without substantial oversight.

• Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex financial information into actionable insights.

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
