This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.
• Take ownership of comprehensive workflows related to state registrations, employer account upkeep, workers’ compensation, Foreign Qualification (FQAL), Registered Agent Administration (RAA), Statements of Information (SOI), and associated requirements.
• Conduct research on state and local regulations and outline the necessary steps to create and maintain employer accounts, business registrations, and coverage.
• Collaborate with government entities, insurance providers, brokers, and third-party partners to set up accounts, gather information, and resolve issues.
• Oversee the lifecycle of accounts, registrations, and policies, which includes registrations, updates, state additions, renewals, audits, transfers, and closures.
• Investigate and address issues related to registration, account access, policy, coverage, and other operational challenges.
• Ensure the accuracy of customer records, credentials, documentation, deadlines, and status monitoring.
• Clearly communicate requirements, obstacles, timelines, and next steps to both customers and internal teams.
• Identify recurring challenges and enhance processes, documentation, controls, and automation strategies.
• Manage a high-volume workload while prioritizing time-sensitive and high-risk tasks.
• Assist with additional Payroll Operations initiatives and responsibilities as business and team dynamics shift.
• Work collaboratively with Payroll Operations, Customer Support, Benefits, government agencies, insurance carriers, and external partners.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll operations, state or business registrations, workers’ compensation, insurance operations, compliance operations, or a related domain.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to manage tasks from initiation to resolution with minimal supervision.
• Excellent research and problem-solving abilities, including navigating unfamiliar state regulations, agency websites, and carrier systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capacity to handle multiple deadlines and workflows effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Comfortable engaging directly with government agencies, carriers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Eager to develop deep expertise in relevant subject areas.
• Experience with multi-state employer or business registrations and account maintenance.
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation policy administration, renewals, audits, or carrier relationships.
• Knowledge of FQAL, RAA, SOI, or other business compliance filings.
• Background in payroll, fintech, PEO, benefits, insurance, or another rapidly growing operational environment.
