Payroll Manager, EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete payroll cycle, ensuring processes are executed promptly and accurately.

• Authorize payroll-related transactions across relevant jurisdictions.

• Perform audits to confirm payroll figures and procedures.

• Prepare documentation for both external and internal audits regarding regional payroll.

• Guarantee adherence to national and regional labor laws as well as tax obligations.

• Ensure that payroll-related disbursements are executed as planned.

• Lead and manage the performance, capacity planning, and professional growth of the payroll team.

• Supervise PTO scheduling and make hiring decisions.

• Gather and analyze payroll KPI metrics, such as error rates, processing duration, and stakeholder feedback.

• Maintain and revise payroll process documentation, including workflows for software development.

• Assist with system improvements and troubleshooting alongside HRIS and IT departments.

• Track ServiceNow (DHR Assist) tickets, email queries, and feedback related to benefits to pinpoint trends and areas for enhancement.

• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to deliver payroll reports and insights.

• Establish the correct data sharing protocols with internal stakeholders.

• Provide strategic guidance and operational governance for regional payroll activities.

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external partners.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or at least 7-9 years of relevant payroll experience.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience processing and managing complex payrolls in the EMEA region.

• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and labor laws.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team management expertise.

• Ability to guide others through transitions and implement new processes or standards while ensuring effective performance management.

• CPP certification is preferred.

• Strategic approach to resolving payroll challenges while considering timing and tax implications.

• Proven track record in managing vendor relationships.

• Proficient in payroll systems and reporting tools.

• Fluency in English and additional European languages is a plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and communicate efficiently with stakeholders.

• Experience with payroll and time system implementations, as well as M&A activities.
