This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the complete payroll process for employees across multiple states.
• Manage payroll operations utilizing Paylocity and Unanet platforms.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, hourly wages, bonuses, commissions, and special payments.
• Uphold compliance with federal, state, and local payroll legislation and regulations.
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, including deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Coordinate payroll tax submissions and guarantee prompt reporting and payments.
• Handle payroll audits and assist with requests from both internal and external auditors.
• Collaborate with HR on employee onboarding, offboarding, modifications in compensation, and administration of benefits.
• Preserve payroll records and ensure data integrity across payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Create and execute payroll policies, procedures, and controls.
• Supervise and guide payroll personnel, providing training and performance feedback.
• Produce and analyze payroll metrics, reports, and financial data for organizational leadership.
• Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 processing and payroll reconciliations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership or management roles.
• Practical experience with Paylocity payroll administration.
• Familiarity with Unanet for labor, project management, timekeeping, and payroll-related tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience in processing multi-state payroll.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, particularly in reporting and data analysis.
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Understanding of labor distribution, project accounting, and indirect cost structures.
• Experience in integrating payroll, HRIS, accounting, and timekeeping systems.
• Knowledge of audits, DCAA compliance, and environments related to government contracting.
