This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete U.S. and international payroll processing for various clients, including international payrolls handled via EOR providers.
• Act as the internal payroll subject matter expert, collaborating closely with HR and Accounting/Finance client leaders to enhance payroll operations across the client portfolio.
• Oversee payroll systems such as Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, ADP, TriNet, Deel, or comparable platforms.
• Ensure precise processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
• Manage payroll compliance across multiple states, including tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).
• Reconcile payroll reports, benefit invoices, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.
• Collaborate with accounting teams to facilitate month-end close activities, including payroll accruals and related reporting.
• Assist with payroll-related equity compensation processing, encompassing tax withholding and reporting for employee stock programs.
• Support payroll setup and termination processes for new hires and departing employees, including prorated pay, final compensation, and payroll deductions.
• Coordinate payroll-related benefits deductions, ensuring accurate processing of employee and employer contributions for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
• Maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and implement process improvements to foster scalable payroll operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll management.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, wage laws, and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with payroll systems like Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, Deel, Sequoia One, or similar platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, data validation, reconciliation workflows).
• Demonstrated experience in payroll reconciliations and providing audit support.
• Experience in supporting payroll operations across various clients, entities, or business units.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in managing international payrolls via EOR platforms such as Deel or Remote.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
